Kota kinabalu: Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin has been described as a leader, friend, and figure who always strongly upheld his principles and consistently stood at the forefront of the struggle. Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the Sabah BN chairman had also sacrificed much and contributed greatly to Sabah and the country.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zambry expressed his gratitude for Bung Moktar's services, sacrifices, and contributions to the people, Sabah, and the nation. He extended his condolences to all family members, wishing them patience and strength during this challenging time. Zambry also prayed for Bung Moktar's soul to be blessed with Allah SWT's mercy and to be placed among the righteous.
Bung Moktar, who was also the Kinabatangan Member of Parliament, passed away at a private hospital in Kota Kinabalu at 1:46 am today. In the recent 17th Sabah State Election, Bung Moktar, who was also Sabah UMNO chairman, retained the Lamag state seat with a majority of 153 votes in a six-cornered contest.
