Business Digitalisation Programme 2025 Benefits Over 400 Students and Entrepreneurs in Terengganu

Terengganu: More than 400 students from higher learning institutions and entrepreneurs from Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMEs), particularly those in the B40 income group in Terengganu, have gained from the Business Digitalisation Programme 2025 (PPP25) at the Terengganu Trade Centre (TTC).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) chairman Ahmad Subki Yusof emphasized that PPP25, newly introduced this year, is a strategic initiative designed to enhance the competitiveness of the business sector. The programme aims to empower B40 entrepreneurs and students by leveraging digital technology.

He further explained that this effort aligns with the government's digitalisation initiative, which seeks to increase awareness of digital transformation's role in enhancing product quality, boosting sales revenue, and expanding market reach. Ahmad Subki Yusof reiterated SSM's commitment to assisting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in effectively integrating digitalisation technology into their operations. This commitment supports the aspirations of the Inclusive Economic Development and People's Well-being Policy under the Malaysia MADANI framework.

The Terengganu State Level PPP25 marks the second series of the programme this year, following an initial edition in Sabah last June. It serves as a continuation and rebrand of SSM's previous entrepreneurship initiatives, such as the Young Entrepreneur Programme and the Entrepreneurial Guidance Programme.

Throughout the PPP25 programme, various activities took place, including a briefing on the Importance of Legally Registering a Company, a Scam Alert session, and workshops on Business Digitalisation, Digital Marketing Strategies, and the Use of Digital Payment Channels. Participants also heard experience-sharing stories from successful entrepreneur icons.

Additionally, the event featured the distribution of Wakalah Zakat Korporat and SSM's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions amounting to RM290,000, which will be allocated to those in need.

SSM records indicate that as of August 31, 15,311 companies, 407,008 businesses, and 526 Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) have been registered in Terengganu. Of these, 6,040 companies, 71,035 businesses, and 486 LLPs are active.
