C. Visayas police draws up security measures for Undas

The Police Regional Office (PRO) in Central Visayas (Region 7) on Monday directed provincial commanders to plot security measures in time for the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on Nov. 1 and 2.

Police Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, PRO-7 spokesperson, said the Philippine National Police in the region has already started the security preparations for the ‘Kalag-Kalag 2024.’

‘As we all know, this is an annual activity and we have already a security coverage in place for this one. We know how many cemeteries we have and what cemeteries are flocked with people and what cemeteries are isolated,’ Pelare said.

The PNP is expected to raise the alert status from normal to full alert days before the celebration.

The police will focus on the peculiarities of the past celebrations and will use it as a guide to determine the need for security adjustments.

Pelare, however, assured the public of a safe, secure and solemn observance of Kalag-Kalag 2024.

PRO-7 chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin directed all
provincial commanders to ensure a help desk would be established in every cemetery in their jurisdiction.
