Kuala lumpur: A proposal for a forensic audit into the management of the Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (FELDA) is set to be discussed by the Cabinet, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The Prime Minister confirmed this development while speaking to the media after attending the National Maulidur Rasul Celebration at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the discussion follows Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's suggestion for a forensic audit to assess potential abuse of power, breaches of trust, or governance violations within FELDA's management. Ahmad Zahid emphasized that a management audit alone was inadequate, given the longstanding issues that have resulted in significant financial losses for the agency.

Previously, Prime Minister Anwar stated that he would await the task force's full report on FELDA's management issues before making any official announcements. The task force has already begun its investigation, with findings expected to be released to the public soon, following a process similar to that of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji.
