Kuala lumpur: The Cabinet will discuss firm measures to address issues of discipline and safety in schools, including the influence of social media among students, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He noted that recent serious incidents in schools necessitate immediate intervention.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar stated, "We will be holding a meeting on this matter. When we look at it closely, almost everything stems from smartphones, social media, and apps." He emphasized the urgency of the situation by indicating that a Cabinet meeting would be convened, possibly today or tomorrow, to address the issue. Anwar acknowledged that firm action is required and anticipated that there would be various public reactions, but he stressed the necessity of taking action.
Anwar's comments followed his attendance at the Ministry of Finance's monthly assembly, where he highlighted the need for decisive measures in response to the growing concerns over student discipline and the pervasive influence of social media in educational settings.
