Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, also serving as the MADANI Government spokesman, announced this development following a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Thailand requested the relocation of the GBC meeting from Phnom Penh to Kuala Lumpur, a move that will be organized by the Ministry of Defence. Initially scheduled for August 4 in Phnom Penh, the meeting's change of venue aims to facilitate peace talks between the two nations. Fahmi disclosed that representatives from ASEAN member states, alongside those from the United States and China, will attend both meetings. Defence attach©s from these countries are expected to participate, highlighting the international interest in resolving the conflict.

The sessions will focus on several key areas, including further negotiations and the establishment of a monitoring team. This team, consisting of ASEAN countries, will ensure the effective implementation of the ceasefire agreed upon by Cambodia and Thailand.
