Kuala lumpur: Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn arrived in Malaysia today for a two-day official visit. The visit aims to enhance the partnership between the two countries through various diplomatic engagements.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sokhonn and his delegation landed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 at 1.48 pm on a commercial flight. They were welcomed by Cambodian Ambassador to Malaysia Ouk Chandara and the Malaysian Government's chief ceremony officer Datuk Rozainor Ramli.

During his visit, Sokhonn is set to meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for a courtesy call. His schedule also includes attending the 3rd Meeting of the Cambodia-Malaysia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) in Kuala Lumpur. This meeting will evaluate the progress made since the previous JCBC and review the implementation of prior bilateral agreements.

Sokhonn is also expected to engage in bilateral discussions with Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan. These discussions are anticipated to focus on trade and investment, areas where both countries have seen significant growth. In 2025, bilateral trade rose by 27.4 per cent to RM5 billion (USD1.17 billion). As of 2024, Malaysia's investments in Cambodia amounted to USD3.20 billion (RM13.07 billion) across 162 registered projects, making it the third-largest foreign investor in Cambodia.
