Kuala Lumpur: Certain individuals will soon face charges in a corruption scandal allegedly involving Sabah state assemblymen, as announced by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki. "I will announce it in a very short time; one or two will be charged in court," Tan Sri Azam revealed to reporters after attending the 2nd MACC Accredited Law Enforcement Programme Convocation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the case pertains to various viral video recordings that purportedly capture conversations between some individuals and Sabah lawmakers concerning mineral licensing in the state. This development follows the completion of the investigation paper by MACC, which was submitted to the Attorney General's Chambers on June 6 for further action.
The MACC had previously confirmed the initiation of investigation papers into this matter. A comprehensive digital forensic analysis was conducted to gather substantial evidence, underscoring the agency's commitment to addressing corruption allegations linked to Sabah assemblymen.
