Sabah: Chief Justice Tun Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh leads the list of 1,026 individuals set to receive Sabah state honours, awards, and medals in conjunction with the official birthday celebration of the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah, Tun Musa Aman.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wan Ahmad Farid is one of three individuals to be awarded the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK), Sabah's highest honour, which carries the title "Datuk Seri Panglima". The other two recipients of this prestigious award are Inspector-General of Police Mohd Khalid Ismail and businessman Datuk Abdul Farish Abd Rashid.
A total of 79 individuals have been named to receive the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK), which carries the title "Datuk". This list includes prominent figures such as Royal Malaysian Navy's Eastern Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Khir Junaidi Idris and the Army's 5th Infantry Division Commander Brigadier-General Shamshor Jaafar. Other notable recipients include Royal Malaysia Police Secretary DCP Abdul Rahman Kassim and Private Secretary to the Sabah Governor, Izharudin Jalaludin.
Academics are also well-represented among the PGDK honorees, with recipients including Universiti Malaysia Sabah's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof Dr Rossita Shapawi, and Associate Professor Dr Lee Kuok Tiung, a senior social sciences lecturer.
Political leaders have also been recognized with the PGDK title. The list includes Kinabatangan MP Mohd Kurniawan Naim Moktar, Sungai Manila state assemblyman Hazem Mubarak Musa, and former Labuk assemblyman Abdul Rahman Kongkawang. Recognizing contributions to youth leadership, Beaufort PKR branch chief Dikin Musah, Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) acting youth chief Azrul Ibrahim, and Gagasan Rakyat youth chief for Sulaman Mohammad Ghazali Hajiji are also among the honorees.
Additionally, 117 individuals will be awarded the Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu (ASDK), 192 the Ahli Darjah Kinabalu (ADK), 260 the Bintang Setia Kinabalu (BSK), 249 the Bintang Kinabalu (BK), 113 the Certificate of Honour (SK), and 13 will receive the Justice of Peace (JP) title.
