Kuala lumpur: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar has pledged to closely and regularly monitor the implementation of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP). He stated that the plan, tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the Dewan Rakyat today, is grounded in efforts to enhance the quality of life, strengthen governance, and position Malaysia among the world's top 30 economies.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Shamsul Azri expressed that the presentation was firm, determined, inclusive, and strategic, with the aim of making Malaysia a leading economy in Southeast Asia and restoring the nation's dignity and standing. He urged the entire civil service to study the document thoroughly, stating his personal commitment to oversee the implementation of the 13MP closely and consistently.
Shamsul Azri, who attended the tabling at Parliament, also expressed his appreciation to the officers and staff at the Ministry of Economy for their dedication in preparing the 13MP document. The five-year national development plan, as tabled by Anwar, is anchored on three core principles: building a sovereign and dignified nation, establishing a MADANI-based social system, and transitioning to an artificial intelligence-driven economy.
The plan aims to foster an inclusive, progressive society and establish Malaysia as a regional leader in digital technology, producing globally competitive innovations, products, and services under the 'Made by Malaysia' brand.
