Chief Secretary Joins Vibrant Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 Parade

Accra:The lively "Colours of Parade" event was graced by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, taking place as part of the Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026. This celebration showcased art, music, dance, and performances from Malaysia's diverse cultural heritage.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event commenced with the national anthem, Negaraku, setting the stage for performances by 1,500 dancers and entertainers nationwide, highlighting Malaysia's rich traditions and cultural diversity.

Among the attendees were Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Chiew Choon Man, Tourism Malaysia Chairman Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, and IOI Group Managing Director and CEO Datuk Lee Yeow Chor. The event captivated the audience with its colorful traditional music, dance, costumes, and cultural displays from various Malaysian communities.

The parade featured performances by the Orang Asli, Chinese, Indian, Sikh, and Siamese communities, along with percussion ensembles and a dynamic Nusantara marching band. The festival, combining arts and motorsports, began on September 23 and concludes tomorrow, October 4.

Organized through a public-private partnership, the festival aims to enhance Malaysia's tourism appeal for the Visit Malaysia Campaign 2026-2027. It supports the tourism sector's positive momentum, with international visitor arrivals increasing by 1.8% to 28.8 million from January to August 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. Domestic tourism also saw a rise of 5.6% in visitor movements during the first half of 2026.

Tomorrow's festival finale will feature a special Lamborghini activation at IOI City Mall, showcasing approximately 100 Lamborghini vehicles. This event adds to the Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026's unique blend of cultural and motorsport experiences, emphasizing Malaysia's vibrant tourism offerings.

The festival is held at three main venues IOI City Mall, Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1, and the Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA.
