Kota bharu: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar is at the forefront of the 803 individuals receiving awards and medals in celebration of the 56th birthday of the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Shamsul Azri was awarded the Ahli Yang Kehormat Yang Pertama (Seri Paduka) bagi Darjah Kebesaran Jiwa Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Mulia (SJMK), which bestows the title Datuk. The award was presented by the sultan at the Istana Balai Besar. Two other distinguished recipients of the SJMK were Datuk Seri Zukri Samat, chairman of Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia, and Datuk Soo Sze Ching, CEO of Asianmax Corporation Sdn Bhd.
In addition to these recognitions, Sultan Muhammad V granted awards carrying the title Datuk to 50 individuals. Chief of Defence Force Gen Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaafar received the Ahli Yang Kehormat Pertama (Seri Paduka) bagi Darjah Kebesaran Kesateria Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Perkasa (SPKK), while Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar and Brig Gen Datuk Raja Nik Mohd Shafriman Nik Hassan, the Comptroller of the Royal Kelantan Household, were conferred the Ahli Yang Pertama (Seri Paduka) bagi Darjah Kebesaran Setia Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Terbilang (SPSK).
Among other notable honorees, Chief Justice Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh and Kelantan legal adviser Datuk Idham Abd Ghani received the SPSK. Kelantan Police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat was awarded the Ahli Yang Kedua (Dato Paduka) bagi Darjah Kebesaran Mahkota Kelantan (DPMK).
Nine individuals, including state Welfare, Women and Family Development Committee chairman Rohani Ibrahim, were honored with the Ahli Yang Kedua (Dato Paduka) bagi Darjah Kebesaran Jiwa Mahkota Kelantan (DJMK). The DJMK was also awarded to Datuk Rizal Ashram Ramli, chairman of Heitech Padu Bhd, and others from various sectors.
The Ahli Yang Kehormat Yang Kedua (Dato Paduka) bagi Darjah Kebesaran Kesateria Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Perkasa (DPKK) was conferred on military leaders such as Chief of Air Force Gen Datuk Seri Muhamad Norazlan Aris and Brig Gen Mohd Tawil Daud.
A total of 17 individuals received the Ahli Yang Kedua (Dato Paduka) bagi Darjah Kebesaran Setia Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Terbilang (DPSK), including Kelantan Chief Syariah Judge Datuk Mohd Amran Mat Zain. Kota Bharu High Court Judge Hasbullah Adam and others were awarded the DPSK for their contributions.
The Ahli Yang Kedua (Dato Paduka) bagi Darjah Kebesaran Jasa Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Setia (DPJK) was given to Penang Police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail and others, with Kelantan Police deputy chief DCP Mohd Ali Tamby being the sole recipient of the honorary DPJK.
