CIMIC Carnival to Highlight Melaka’s National Day Celebrations

Melaka: The Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Carnival Melaka 2026 is set to be a prominent feature of the state-level National Day celebrations taking place at Dataran 1Malaysia Klebang from August 29 to 31.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh announced that the event will include the docking of three Royal Malaysian Navy warships off the coast of Klebang, offering the public an opportunity to view the nation's defense assets closely. The celebrations, previously held at Dataran Pahlawan for the past two years, will now move to Dataran 1Malaysia Klebang, providing a larger and longer parade route along the coastal road.

The CIMIC Carnival will feature various displays such as parachute demonstrations, air displays by fighter jets and helicopters, and special forces demonstrations. The carnival is scheduled to launch on the morning of August 30, followed by Merdeka Eve celebrations that include cultural activities and performances by artists like Ziana Zain, Amy Search, and Charly Van Houten.

The Melaka state-level National Day celebrations will culminate on August 31 with activities including a parade of contingents, a procession of vehicles and assets, ethnic and cultural performances, field events, and a parade of floats. Visitors will also witness a flypast and various demonstrations as part of the festivities.

The Melaka Berselawat programme is also planned for August 29, featuring congregational prayers, qasidah, and a religious talk by special guest Habib Syech Assegaf. Additionally, 2,000 seats will be available in the public grandstand area, with designated seating areas along the parade route.

Nearly 5,000 parking spaces will be provided across 11 public parking areas for visitors. Shuttle bus services will be available at designated pick-up points, and traffic control measures, as well as road closures, will be implemented to ensure the smooth running of the programme. The public is advised to plan their journey accordingly and follow instructions from officials and authorities in the area.
