Civil Servants Urged to Avoid Public Rallies, Says Attorney-General

Kuala lumpur: Civil servants must set a good example by refraining from participating in any assemblies organised by the public, said Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar. He emphasized that participation in such gatherings could lead to disciplinary action as it would constitute a breach of established rules.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Dusuki stated that such assemblies violate the code of conduct and discipline for civil servants. He urged public servants to set a positive example and highlighted that their involvement in these events offers no benefit. His remarks came during the launch of the Attorney-General's Chambers' Santuni MADANI programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pulai Chondong.

During the event, Mohd Dusuki also provided cash aid of RM3,000 and a television set to the school, along with batik cloths and water bottles to over 1,000 villagers and students. The AGC had previously issued a statement clarifying that civil servants are prohibited from participating in any public assemblies, following a directive from the Chief Secretary to the Government.

In a separate matter, Mohd Dusuki addressed the recent sentencing of motoring influencer Tengku Nizaruddin Tengku Zainudin and his brother Tengku Abdul Aziz. He noted that while he cannot comment as the issue falls under the court's jurisdiction, the AGC would review the matter.
