Kuala lumpur: Public service machinery need to consistently support the efforts made by the country's leadership to place Malaysia in the best position within the global geopolitical and economic landscape.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, highlighted the success of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's recent working visits to Russia and Turkmenistan. These diplomatic efforts have strategically positioned Malaysia to explore new markets and strengthen existing trade relationships.
"As the backbone of the nation, the civil service views the success of these working visits not just as an achievement for foreign policy, but as a critical mandate that must be converted into immediate action at home," Shamsul Azri stated. He emphasized the need for government officials, particularly in economic and trade ministries, to match the leadership's global vision with high efficiency and preparedness.
He urged civil servants to act with agility, continuously build capacity, and establish strategic cooperation networks beyond conventional boundaries to understand shifts in the new world economic order, ensuring Malaysia is not left behind.
Shamsul Azri also reminded public service personnel, especially department heads and senior officials, to adopt the values of MADANI Diplomacy and the 'Whole-of-Government' approach in their governance. He mentioned the focus on enhancing the Ease of Doing Business initiatives and serving as investment facilitators to actualize international agreements promptly.
"Public servants must possess a global mindset and the capability to act as international-class strategic partners," he said, ensuring that every investment opportunity through MADANI Diplomacy translates into tangible benefits for the people.
He reiterated the importance of the Public Service Reform Agenda (ARPA) to build a high-capacity public service supporting the nation's development agenda. The primary task now is to swiftly translate economic avenues, investment potentials, and strategic understandings into domestic prosperity, including high-income job opportunities and maintaining Malaysia's competitiveness as a global investment destination.
