Coalition of Malaysian NGOs Backs GSF Humanitarian Efforts in Gaza

Kuala lumpur: A coalition of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and individuals representing communities of various races and religions in Malaysia has expressed strong support for the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission to Gaza. They praised the courage and determination of the activists involved in the mission.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the coalition welcomed the release of all detained activists, viewing their steadfastness as a universal symbol of courage against tyranny and injustice. The coalition expressed its highest appreciation and support for the activists' efforts, highlighting their message of humanitarian solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The joint statement was issued by several prominent figures, including Malaysian Youth Unity Organisation chairman Dr Muhammad Fairuz Azmi, Global Unity Network president Shah Kirit Kakulal Govindji, and advisor of the Association of NextGen Christians of Malaysia Jason Leong. It was also signed by Malaysian Hindu Sangam Terengganu council advisor Dr Balachandran Gopal Krishnan, alongside religious activists Dr Charanjit Kaur and Loh Pai Ling, and social activist Chew Hoong Ling.

Additional signatories included Dr Shawn Loh Sheng Nian, founder and president of Asia Pacific Entrepreneurs Association; Harinder Kaur, president of Se-Punjabi Youth Movement Malaysia; Low Lee Leong of the Patriotic People's Movement; Syahrul Md Yusoff from Kitakan Kawan; and Tai Zee Kin from Pendukung Perpaduan. The coalition emphasized that the struggle for Palestinian rights is a universal humanitarian issue, not limited to religious contexts, and requires the attention and concern of all parties.

The statement followed the detention of 23 Malaysian activists by the Zionist regime's army last Thursday. These activists, who were part of the GSF mission, have since been successfully extracted from Israel and are expected to return to Malaysia tonight.
