College Student Drowns In Sungai Loh After Swimming With Friends

Kuala lumpur: A tragic incident unfolded when a college student, Ahmad Al Hafiz Asri Ahmad, 19, drowned after a swim in Sungai Loh. The victim was found by members of the volunteer fire brigade trapped between rocks, approximately 10 meters from the spot where he was last seen at 5.20 pm.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Senior Fire Officer I Kamal Suhaimi Abdullah from the Bandar Al-Muktafi Billah Shah Fire and Rescue Station stated that the incident occurred when Ahmad Al Hafiz, from Kampung Jaya Baru, Jalan Felda Bukit Bading in Ajil, Hulu Terengganu, jumped into the river and did not resurface around 4.40 pm. Initial reports from his friends revealed that Ahmad, a student pursuing a Diploma in Islamic Tourism Management at Kolej Ketengah, had arrived at the river with nine companions for a swim at about 11 am.

The search and rescue operation comprised eight firefighters and three volunteer fire brigade members. After the recovery, the victim's body was transported to the Forensic Unit of Dungun Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
