Communications Ministry to Strengthen Cooperation for Wider Reach of Government Initiatives

Kuala Lumpur:The Communications Ministry will enhance collaboration with other ministries to ensure that information on government initiatives and programs reaches a broader audience and is more comprehensible to the public.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil announced that the ministry's Strategic Communications Division will work with the Corporate Communications Units of each ministry. Their goal is to identify and promote initiatives through television, radio, and social media platforms.

Fahmi emphasized that while ministries have existing allocations to promote their policies, these efforts need reinforcement to ensure the intended beneficiaries are aware of available assistance. He cited programs such as mySalam and PEKA B40 under the Ministry of Finance, which need to effectively reach target groups.

The Information Department will compile information on initiatives from various ministries into concise modules for outreach, including banners. Additionally, the ministry plans to create simple, easy-to-understand modules listing initiatives from each ministry, accessible via applications or QR codes. This will help the public identify government digital services like the PriceCatcher app, MyGOV Malaysia, MyJalan, and MyJPJ.

On Budget 2027 preparations, Fahmi stated that the Communications Ministry has submitted over 20 proposals to the Finance Ministry, including new initiatives and enhancements to existing programs. These proposals involve various agencies, including feedback from the arts industry through the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, and content funding programs like the Film in Malaysia Incentive and Concert and Event in Malaysia Incentive. Budget 2027 is slated for presentation on October 9, marking the fifth MADANI Budget and second under the 13th Malaysia Plan.
