Inderapura: Various community activities not only provide opportunities for people to come together but can also strengthen unity among the people. Deputy National Unity Minister R. Yuneswaran emphasized the importance of collaboration between residents, government agencies, and community leaders to ensure initiatives benefit the community.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Yuneswaran highlighted that community programs are inclusive, engaging everyone from children to adults. He praised government agencies and community leaders for prioritizing the prosperity of the people during his speech at the Inderapura MADANI Merdeka Semarak Programme.
Yuneswaran also noted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's decision to increase the annual grant for Rukun Tetangga Areas (KRT) to RM10,000 next year, up from RM6,000. This increment underscores the significant role of KRTs in assisting local communities. He encouraged KRT committee members to work collaboratively with the government to support their communities.
He stressed the importance of preserving the spirit of mutual assistance and unity, which are central to Malaysia's identity. Yuneswaran urged the community to maintain harmony and unity and resist any divisive elements.
Earlier, Yuneswaran inaugurated a futsal court and visited the Patin Fish Fry Community Pond managed by local residents. The two-day program, which began yesterday, attracted more than 1,000 local residents and participants from surrounding areas. Activities included a Fun Run, decorated bicycles, coloring activities, and a Merdeka alley.
