Tanjung malim: The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) today organised a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) visit to PROTON's advanced manufacturing facility in Tanjung Malim, welcoming members of its kampung angkat community from Kampung Cegar, Bidor, Perak. The programme provided a platform for local youth and community members to gain exposure to Malaysia's high-tech industrial landscape.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the visit was led by En. Zainal Abdul Rahman, Director of Corporate Management Division, MIDA, accompanied by 10 MIDA officials, while 20 residents from Kampung Cegar, aged 14 years and above, participated in the programme. The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between rural communities and industrial opportunities, offering firsthand experience of the manufacturing processes at one of Malaysia's leading automotive facilities.
The participants were taken on a guided tour of the facility, where they observed various stages of vehicle production and learned about the technological advancements implemented by PROTON. This exposure is intended to inspire the youth of Kampung Cegar to consider careers in the industrial sector and contribute to the nation's economic growth.
Overall, the CSR visit by MIDA to the PROTON facility underscores the organisation's commitment to fostering community development and enhancing the skill set of the local population by connecting them with potential industrial prospects.
