Construction Of Paradise Camp In Kota Belud To Be Completed In 2027

Kota belud: The Paradise Camp Construction Project for Camp 5 Brigade and Camp 19 of the Royal Malay Regiment (RAMD), valued at RM179.7 million, is on track for completion by August 2027 as part of the national defence development plan.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Minister of Works Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan announced that the project, initiated in May of the previous year, occupies a 40.47-hectare site and consists of 42 buildings. The construction efforts are ahead of schedule, with a physical progress rate of 10.26 per cent.

The construction encompasses various facilities, including administrative buildings, technical blocks, residential blocks, and support facilities. Essential infrastructure such as roads, water supply, electricity supply, and security control systems are also being developed.

Ahmad highlighted that once completed, the project will accommodate 1,148 personnel of various ranks, an increase from the current 311. This expansion aims to bolster the readiness of security forces on Sabah's west coast and offer economic advantages to the local community through job creation, business opportunities, and regional development.

The project is being executed by Ilmiah Perdana Sdn Bhd as the main contractor, in partnership with the Public Works Department's Special Project Team 2 (PPK2), which serves as the implementing agency.
