In a separate alert, MetMalaysia issued a Category 1 Strong Wind and Rough Sea Warning for waters off East Johor, Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan, effective until Thursday. The department reported that strong northeasterly winds of 40 to 50 km/h, with waves reaching up to 3.5 metres, are expected in the affected waters during this period. It added that the strong winds and rough sea conditions are dangerous for small boats, recreational activities at sea, and marine sports.
MetMalaysia also issued a warning over a rise in sea level in the waters off East Johor, Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan from Saturday to Monday. The department stated that the condition could lead to seawater overflowing along the coast, particularly in low-lying and exposed areas.
