Kampung kerawat: Police are investigating a package believed to contain human remains found near a river close to the Orang Asli cemetery in Kampung Kerawat, Jalan Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands, this evening. District police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad stated that a 28-year-old man lodged a report after villagers informed him about the discovery.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, initial investigations by the Perak Police forensic unit revealed that a package was found lodged against a tree trunk by the riverbank. The package contained a body, and the identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed, as per the statement released by Abang Zainal Abidin.

Abang Zainal Abidin mentioned that the case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR), pending further post-mortem results to determine if any criminal elements were involved.
