CSC offers financial education, leadership courses to civil servants

MANILA: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is inviting civil servants looking to improve their skills and competencies to enroll in the online learning and development (L and D) programs offered by the commission this coming month.

‘As civil servants, it is essential that we continuously update our knowledge and skills to keep pace with new advancements. The CSC, through the Civil Service Institute (CSI), offers various courses on human resource (HR) and organizational development (OD) aimed to help us become effective public servants who are the foundation of a strong bureaucracy,’ CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles said in a statement n Thursday.

‘These programs are designed to address the evolving needs of public service, ensuring that civil servants are well-equipped to meet contemporary challenges.’

In partnership with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the BDO Foundation, the CSI will conduct the Financial Education course for government officials and employees on June 13 – 14. The 10-hour seminar will
enable participants to apply various tools, tips, and techniques in financial decision-making toward acquiring financial health and freedom.

There will also be a Competency-Based Human Resource Management System (CBHRMS) training program for HR management officers from June 5 to June 11. The program shall introduce the principles, processes, and practices of effectively developing CBHRMS to build and enhance workforce competencies to improve organizational outcomes.

On June 14, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Workplace course will equip heads of agencies and HR management officials and employees with insights into cutting-edge AI applications, an understanding of its potential benefits and challenges, and strategies to leverage AI effectively in the workplace.

HR practitioners from government agencies nationwide may enroll in the two-day Levels of Learning Evaluation program on June 18 – 20. This course shall enable L and D practitioners to determine learning needs and draft learning evaluation pro
cesses and tools based on their assessment.

Meanwhile, executives, leaders, managers, division chiefs, and supervisors or equivalent positions may enroll in the Emotional Intelligence and Leadership course to be conducted from June 18 to 19. The program aims to develop leadership self-awareness and discover how to strengthen emotional intelligence as leaders through a concrete Emotional Intelligence Self-Development Action Plan.

The one-day CSI Leadership Series forum on June 21 will equip public sector executives, managers, directors, and chiefs with effective management and leadership practices as well as emerging trends in leadership from exemplary leaders, organizations, and leadership gurus.

Lastly, CSI invites civil servants to learn at their own pace and time with self-paced courses. For this month, the self-paced Leadership in the Digital Era course, available from June 26 to August 26, will enable participants to appreciate and embrace digital leadership, especially in transitioning to the new nor
mal toward strategic leadership and organizational transformation.

‘All these courses are offered online through the CSC-Learning Management System (CSC-LMS), providing convenience and accessibility for all. We are looking forward to having government employees join us in the development interventions and opportunities that the CSI has prepared,’ Nograles said.

A certificate of completion with leadership and managerial training hours will be given to participants who have successfully completed the online course and its requirements.
