David Alonso Claims Victory at 2024 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix Moto3.


SEPANG: David Alonso of Colombia emerged victorious at the 2024 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix Moto3 event held at the Sepang International Circuit. Alonso, representing the CFMOTO Aspar Team, completed the race in 33 minutes 03.671 seconds, securing the top position.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Taiyo Furusato from Japan, racing for Honda Team Asia, finished a close second, just 0.088 seconds behind Alonso. Jose Antonio Rueda of Spain, riding for Red Bull KTM Ajo, claimed the third spot with a time gap of 0.411 seconds from the leader.

The race witnessed competitive performances, with Ivan Ortola from Spain, representing MT Helmets – MSI, finishing fourth, trailing by 0.996 seconds. Dutch rider Collin Veijer of Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP took the fifth position, completing the race 1.091 seconds behind the winner.

Australian Joel Kelso, riding for BOE Motorsports, finished in sixth place, followed by Japan’s Ryusei Yamanaka of MT Helmets – MSI in seventh. Italian riders Stefano Nepa of MTA Team
and Matteo Bertelle of Kopron Rivacold Snipers Team secured eighth and ninth places, respectively. Luca Lunetta of SIC58 Squadra Corse rounded out the top ten.

Other notable finishes included David Almansa of Kopron Rivacold Snipers Team in 11th place and Jacob Roulston of Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 in 12th. The race saw several non-classified riders who could not complete the event, including Nicola Carraro from the MTA Team and Scott Ogden from FleetSafe Honda – MLav Racing, among others.

The event was a showcase of talent and skill, with riders from various teams competing fiercely for podium positions.
