Kuala lumpur: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has issued compound notices to 22 individuals found offering unlicensed photography services around the Petronas Twin Towers during an enforcement operation last night.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the integrated KL Strike Force operation commenced at 9 pm and concluded at 11.15 pm, targeting unauthorised commercial activities in the area.

DBKL has also seized the business equipment belonging to these individuals. The owners may reclaim their equipment once the compound has been settled, a spokesperson said at the operation site last night.

The operation was conducted in cooperation with several other agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the National Registration Department (NRD). All those inspected were Malaysians.

Action against these individuals was taken under the Licensing of Hawkers (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) By-Laws 2016, which provides for a maximum compound of RM2,000.

Regular monitoring and patrols will continue to be intensified, particularly at night in the area, to ensure that all business activities comply with the regulations.

Meanwhile, a check by Bernama at the operation site found that photography services using the Petronas Twin Towers as a backdrop were being offered at RM5 per photo for locals and RM10 per photo for foreigners.
