Sentul: The long-delayed Residensi Kecapi redevelopment project in Sentul, stalled for nearly a decade due to various challenges, has now been fully completed and will benefit its original residents who have long awaited a fair resolution.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa stated that 136 original owners and eligible heirs can finally breathe a collective sigh of relief as they will receive their residential units at RM42,000 each, which is significantly below the current market price of RM200,000 per unit.
Dr Zaliha emphasized that this development serves as evidence that the government consistently prioritizes the interests of the people, particularly those in the low-income group. She noted that the successful completion of the project underscores a commitment to transparency and justice. She mentioned that a special audit team, comprising members from the Federal Territories Department (JWP), Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), and the developer, conducted on-site verifications to confirm the status of original owners and rightful heirs.
During the event, Dr Zaliha also introduced the Bintang Cemerlang 2.0 Programme, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by YTL and UCSI University. This program aims to assist students affected by the pandemic, focusing on recovering basic literacy and numeracy skills across 23 primary schools near the People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Sentul.
Dr Zaliha highlighted that the initiative aligns with the Ilmu @ PUJI initiative in the Federal Territories, ensuring that no community is left behind in accessing quality education. She encouraged greater industry participation in contributing to high-impact social programs for a more inclusive society. She stressed that developing the city is a shared responsibility among all stakeholders, fostering unity and appreciation across all societal layers.
She concluded by stating that the future is planned for all in need, reflecting the true MADANI spirit that the government champions.
