Different Segments Of Society Benefit From BUDI95 Initiative

Kuala lumpur: From workers in the private sector to young entrepreneurs and students, many are benefiting from reduced fuel costs through the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) initiative.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, private sector worker K. Gunasekaran, 54, mentioned that he used to allocate around RM600 monthly for RON95 petrol when the price was RM2.05 per litre. With the current price of RM1.99 per litre under the BUDI95 initiative, he can now spend approximately RM582.43 for the same amount of fuel, marking a notable saving.

The retail price of non-subsidised RON95 petrol was set at RM2.60 per litre for the period from Sept 30 to Oct 8. Young entrepreneur Ong Jun Di, 25, indicated that he budgets about RM480 monthly for petrol. The savings from the BUDI95 initiative have allowed him to allocate funds towards household expenses and future needs.

Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) nursing student Nurshami Abdul Rahim, 20, shared that the BUDI95 initiative has been beneficial for students who rely on motorcycles or cars for commuting to college and managing daily activities. For students who depend on loans or scholarships, the initiative provides financial relief, aiding them in managing their living expenses while studying.

The BUDI95 initiative rollout began with 300,000 military and police personnel and was extended to five million Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) aid recipients. Most recently, it has been made available to 16 million eligible Malaysians.
