The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has said the number of families affected by habagat or southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Storm Dodong has climbed to 9,223 in five regions. Of this number, 271 families or 849 individuals are being served in 23 evacuation centers while 809 families or 956 persons are being aided outside. Earlier, the Office of Civil Defense said affected families were a combination of those displaced and those not needing evacuation. Still undergoing validation is a report of one fatality in Calabarzon. Around 14 houses were also reported damaged in Calabarzon and Western Visayas, with six classified as “totally damaged” and eight as “partially damaged”. These numbers are subject to change as validation is ongoing.
