DPM Ahmad Zahid Pledges Assistance To Surviving Siblings Of Raub Fire

Raub: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will provide aid to two siblings who lost five family members in a house fire at Kampung Pamah Kulat, Raub, yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a Facebook post today, Ahmad Zahid reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding the welfare and education of Ruby Adalia Balqis Mohd Alawi, 19, and Ahmad Balia Murqam Mohd Alawi, 15. During a video call with the family, Ahmad Zahid expressed his admiration for the resilience of the siblings in coping with the loss of their loved ones.

He also extended an invitation to the teenagers to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri together, aiming to provide them with companionship during this challenging period. Ahmad Zahid further encouraged prayers for the souls of the deceased and strength for the surviving family members.

The fire claimed the lives of Mohd Alawi Muhammad, 56; his wife Zaleha Adam @ Ibrahim, 44; and their three daughters, Ruby Adira Batrisya, 17, Ruby Adlina Banin, 14, and Ruby Azyan Barizah, 10. They were laid to rest together at the Bukit Gelugor Muslim cemetery at 11:45 pm yesterday.

Ruby Adalia Balqis, a matriculation student in Gambang, Kuantan, and Ahmad Balia Murqam, a student at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dong, Raub, were not at home during the fire, which occurred around 3 am.
