DPM Fadillah Joins Malaysian Diaspora In Busan For National Day Event

Busan: Some 50 members of the Malaysian diaspora in this city gathered here today in a programme organised by the Malaysian Embassy in Busan to ignite the spirit of patriotism in conjunction with the 68th National Day celebration. The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who is on an official working visit to South Korea until Aug 29. The gathering brought together Malaysians from diverse backgrounds, including students, professionals, and families residing in Busan and its surrounding areas. There are currently 1,204 Malaysians living in South Korea.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in his speech, Fadillah underscored the important role of Malaysians abroad as representatives of the nation. 'You are ambassadors of our country. Whether working, raising families or studying, you carry the image of Malaysia and introduce it to the local community. This includes our culture, way of life and how we adapt, especially here in Korea,' he said. Fadillah also exchanged views with the diaspora on Malaysia's governance, developments in the energy sector, and listened to their views on the country's future.
