Kuala lumpur: Cabinet ministers today extended their congratulations to Juasseh assemblyman Datuk Ismail Lasim on his appointment as the new Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi conveyed his congratulations in a Facebook post, expressing his confidence in Ismail's capability to fulfill the responsibilities for the well-being of the people and the state's progress.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin also expressed his congratulations, underscoring the importance of the people's trust in continuing the state's development. He conveyed his hopes for Negeri Sembilan's continued stability, progress, and shared prosperity under the new leadership.

Meanwhile, Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad highlighted Ismail's appointment as a pivotal moment for Negeri Sembilan's progression into a new phase. She wished him success in his responsibilities and leadership, hoping for divine assistance and blessings in his service to the people.

Ismail, 67, officially assumed his role as the new Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar in a ceremony before the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, at the Balairong Seri of Istana Besar Seri Menanti. With nearly three decades of experience in Negeri Sembilan politics, Ismail began his political career as a state assemblyman in 1999. He served in the state executive council from 2004 to 2018, focusing on education and human capital development.
