Jengka: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi paid tribute to FELDA settlers, describing them as the backbone of the success of the land development schemes over the past seven decades. In his speech at the FELDA Settlers' Day and 70th anniversary celebration, Ahmad Zahid said their sacrifices and unwavering determination had built a legacy that remains a source of national pride.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid expressed that the legacy continues through the new FELDA generation, who are bringing the name of the land schemes to greater heights in various fields. He highlighted the stories of thousands of families behind today's vast green plantations, who began with many challenges. These families cleared the land, built settlements, and raised their children with the hope that future generations would enjoy a better life.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, hoped the spirit passed down by earlier generations of settlers would continue to inspire the new generation. He expressed his wishes for FELDA to continue achieving success and remain a source of pride for the nation, extending his greetings for FELDA Settlers' Day 2026.
Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiated the celebration at Tun Abdul Razak Stadium in Jengka, Pahang.
