Driver Arrested Following Fatal Hit-And-Run Incident on Jalan Tun Razak

Kuala lumpur: Police arrested a driver suspected of involvement in a hit-and-run that killed a motorcyclist on Jalan Tun Razak near Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) at 6 am today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Chief Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa stated that preliminary investigations revealed the 29-year-old male motorcyclist was believed to have been hit from behind by a car while riding a Yamaha 135LC. The impact caused the victim to fall onto the road, resulting in severe head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a Kuala Lumpur Hospital assistant medical officer.

Mohd Zamzuri further disclosed that the vehicle involved in the incident was a 'sambung bayar' car that the driver had been operating at the time of the accident. The 30-year-old driver voluntarily surrendered at the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police Station around 6.30 pm today, where he was subsequently detained under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The suspect underwent both a breathalyser test and a preliminary urine screening, and results showed he was negative for alcohol and drugs. Mohd Zamzuri has urged anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Tun H.S.
