Driver, Passenger Injured in Express Bus Accident in Ranau

Ranau: An express bus driver and a female passenger were injured after being involved in an accident on Jalan Ranau-Kundasang yesterday. The incident has raised concerns about road safety in the area.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ranau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Rantey Fred reported that the accident involved an express bus driven by a 64-year-old man and a Proton Saga. The injured passenger was a Chinese national in her 30s who was on the bus, which was carrying 22 passengers at the time of the accident.

Rantey Fred stated that the Ranau BBP received an emergency call at about 10.16 pm and promptly dispatched a rescue team to the scene, which was located 17 km away from the station. The injured and unconscious victim received initial treatment at the scene before being transported to Ranau Hospital by ambulance for further medical care.
