Education Minister Emphasizes Multiracial Unity in Petah Competition

Putrajaya:Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek has emphasized that the Ministry of Education's (KPM) Petah competition should continue to promote unity among the younger generation through multiracial team participation, aligning with Malaysia MADANI aspirations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadhlina stated the importance of this approach to ensure the competition serves not only as a platform for talent and language skill development but also as a reflection of national diversity and unity among Malaysians. She highlighted the need for multiracial representation in each team to showcase the Malaysia MADANI concept.

Petah KPM 2026 supports the Upholding the Malay Language and Strengthening the English Language (MBMMBI) policy, aiming for proficiency in both languages to foster effective communication across various races. The event, taking place at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre until October 15, gathers the education community to enhance national language practices.

Fadhlina noted the positive developments in the competition's quality, especially in promoting the use of Malay and English. Participants in the debate finals for both languages displayed exceptional talent, demonstrating their ability to master communication and argumentation skills.

Pahang claimed victory in the 2026 Education Minister's Cup MADANI Generation Debate Competition (English Category), with Putrajaya as runners-up. Kedah won the Malay Language Category, with Selangor taking second place. Petah KPM 2026 features sixteen other language-based competitions, including public speaking, oratory, and choral speaking.
