Education Ministry Launches Special Application Channel for School Repairs in 2027

Kuala Lumpur:The Education Ministry (MOE) has introduced a dedicated channel for Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG) to apply for school maintenance and repair funds for the year 2027.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MOE announced via Facebook that applications will be open from November 1 to 30. The applications can be submitted through a provided link and QR code. This initiative comes after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed a RM2 billion allocation under Budget 2027 for school repairs and maintenance, marking a RM1 billion increase from previous allocations.

The MOE clarified that not all applications will receive automatic approval. Proposals must demonstrate genuine need, with priority given to cases involving critical damage and safety risks to students and school staff. The ministry expressed hope that this initiative will streamline the process for PIBGs to submit maintenance and repair applications directly.

In a related development, during his 2026 National Day address in August, Prime Minister Anwar urged the MOE to enhance ground-level efforts in every district to assess applications for school infrastructure repairs.
