Kuala lumpur: The Education Ministry is intensifying efforts to bolster psychosocial support for the school community after the recent death of a female teacher in Selangor. Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek emphasized the importance of this initiative, acknowledging the concerns raised by educators and the public. The issue resonates deeply with her, given her background as a mental health activist at the start of her political career.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the ministry has consistently prioritized mental well-being within the education sector. This has been achieved through collaborations with non-governmental organizations, the Health Ministry, and professional counsellors. Fadhlina reassured educators that their mental health is a priority, encouraging them to recognize they are not alone in facing challenges.

Fadhlina urged the public and media to respect the privacy of the deceased teacher's family, avoid speculation, and allow law enforcement to conduct a comprehensive investigation. This appeal underscores the ministry's commitment to addressing the situation with sensitivity and respect.
