Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has reaffirmed her commitment to support Form Six students, despite the upcoming transition of the pre-university programme's management to the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). Fadhlina emphasized the importance of this change, which aligns with the resolution that all pre-university programmes will now be under the supervision of MOHE.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadhlina expressed her sentiments in a Facebook post, noting that this may be her final address to Form Six students before the transition. She praised their dedication and their role in upholding the aspirations of national education. She highlighted the ministry's efforts, such as establishing the National Form Six Student Representative Committee through elections, which empowers students to elect their own leaders. Additionally, collaboration with public higher education institutions like Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia h as been part of the Form Six programme initiatives.
The ministry has also introduced Early Schooling Aid for Form Six students and has broadened the establishment of Form Six Colleges. Fadhlina mentioned that an annual allocation of RM50,000 was provided for the National Form Six Student Representative Committee, further underlining the ministry's support for these students.
In a related note, she congratulated the organisers of the Penang State-Level Pre-University Congress and expressed her hope that the students' voices would continue to contribute to enhancing the prestige of national education.
