Elder Sister of Pahang Sultan Laid To Rest at Royal Mausoleum

Pahang: The remains of Tengku Puteri Seri Kemala Tengku Datuk Seri Aishah Almarhum Sultan Ahmad Shah, elder sister of the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, were laid to rest at the Royal Mausoleum here today. It was reported that Tengku Datuk Seri Aishah died at 9.15 pm yesterday at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur. She was 69.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah were present at the burial, accompanied by Tengku Mahkota of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah. Also in attendance were Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam and Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

Earlier, funeral prayers were held at the Khalid bin Al-Walid Mosque in Jalan Padang Tembak, Kuala Lumpur, before the remains were flown back to Pahang from the Subang Air Base. The remains were later taken to the Sultan Ahmad 1 Mosque, arriving at 1.25 pm for prayers to be performed again after zuhur prayers.

After the prayers, the remains were transported to the Royal Mausoleum beside the mosque, where the burial ceremony was conducted with full honours. Pahang Mufti Datuk Dr Asmadi Mohamed Naim led the recitation of Yasin, followed by tahlil and prayers. Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah then sprinkled rose water and scattered flowers on the grave.
