IPOH, – An elderly woman was found dead in the bed of a flooded house in Kampung Temerlok, Trong near Taiping this morning.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the woman, 80, was found on the bed and confirmed dead by medical officers.
“The victim, who lived alone, died not because of drowning from the flood. The victim’s neighbour informed the authorities about the incident,’ he said in a statement today, adding that the department received word at 9 am before dispatching a team to the location.
Meanwhile Taiping district police chief ACP Mohamad Nasir Ismail said in a statement that the woman died of old age.
“The victim’s death is not linked to any criminal elements nor caused by the flooding of her house,’ he added.
