Enforcement Agencies Refer 335 Cases to KPDN by May, Says Minister

Kuala lumpur: A total of 335 cases have been submitted to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) by enforcement agencies from January 1 to May 31, 2025, stated Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali. Armizan shared these details during a press conference at the Strategic Partner Appreciation Ceremony held in conjunction with the KPDN Enforcement Day celebration.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 335 cases form a segment of the 2,811 cases recorded since 2021, which is the result of strategic collaboration between KPDN and several enforcement agencies. Armizan highlighted that these case submissions involve various legal frameworks, including smuggling and abuse of subsidised controlled goods. The cases were submitted through arrests by all involved agencies and handed over to KPDN for further action. Integrated operations with these enforcement agencies were also conducted.

Armizan noted that among the agencies, the General Operations Force recorded the highest number of case submissions with 1,146 cases, followed by the Marine Police Force with 866 cases, the Royal Malaysia Police with 661 cases, and the Malaysian Armed Forces with 69 cases. He emphasized that the consistent increase in the number of case submissions demonstrates the success of the integrated efforts between KPDN and enforcement agencies, thereby strengthening the implementation of more structured and focused operations.

Armizan expressed hope that the existing cooperation can be further strengthened to enhance the functions of KPDN, particularly in addressing issues related to the abuse of controlled and subsidised goods and smuggling activities abroad.
