Kuala lumpur: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF), as a major shareholder in IJM Corporation Bhd (IJM Corp), has abstained from voting on the takeover offer by Sunway Bhd for IJM Corp.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the EPF Voting Decisions at Shareholders' Meetings section on its website indicated that the decision for the proposed conditional voluntary takeover offer for IJM Corp was recorded as 'abstained'. This decision highlights the EPF's position, given its interests in both Sunway Bhd and IJM Corp.

The EPF explained that it 'voluntarily abstained from voting in view of its shareholdings in both Sunway Bhd and IJM Corp.' This decision reflects the EPF's strategy to maintain neutrality due to its investment interests in both companies involved in the takeover proposal.
