Since the start of the Ramadan month, the good deeds of four friends have captured the attention of the public.
These four friends, astride their classic Honda C70 machines with round headlamps, ride to several locations here and in Tumpat with a simple mission: to distribute drinks donated by various parties to the public, especially the asnaf group.
Speaking to Bernama, ‘i-Phoso’ trader, Shazwan Saupi, 40, said he has been entrusted to distribute eight jars of various types of drinks at several locations every day.
“I sell eight jars of fruit-flavoured drinks such as lychee, watermelon, grapes and mango, with each jar providing about 70 packets.
“Every day I receive about RM400 from people who want to help the asnaf, (I also receive) donations from people from all walks of life, with some from Sarawak also contributing,” he said when met at Taman Hijau, here.
Elaborating, Shazwan said that before the drinks are distributed, they are packed at his stall in Pasir Pekan, Tumpat.
“The stall is open at 3 pm and once all the drinks are packed, my three friends and I will put them on our modified Honda C70 bikes to be taken to various locations for distribution.
“The places we go to will depend on the demand or suggestions. For example, besides Taman Hijau, we also distribute the drinks around Pasir Pekan and Kampung Laut… we do this from door-to-door and members of the public also patronise our stall,” he said.
Shazwan explained that he uses social media, like TikTok and Facebook, to publicise their activities.
“Alhamdulillah, the response has been very good, many have contributed. Besides drinks, some have also asked us to buy rice to be distributed,” he said.
