Kuala lumpur: Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek today emphasized the necessity for all schools to report each bullying incident transparently, ensuring no case is concealed, as mandated by the Ministry of Education (MOE) guidelines.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadhlina stated that addressing bullying is a significant responsibility for schools, extending beyond legal obligations to moral duties. Speaking at a press conference following the Anti-Bullying Tribunal Townhall Session, she highlighted the importance of reporting bullying incidents in accordance with MOE regulations before they escalate to the tribunal level. She underscored the role of school administrators and teachers in taking full responsibility when bullying occurs.
The session was also attended by the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said and Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. Fadhlina assured that the MOE's guidelines eliminate any fear in reporting bullying cases, stressing that all cases must be investigated transparently. She mentioned improvements in the complaint portal to allow anonymous reporting, ensuring all complaints are addressed.
Fadhlina further emphasized the MADANI Government's commitment to addressing bullying comprehensively. She also announced plans to integrate character education into the 2027 school curriculum, focusing on moral values and ethics as foundational elements for future generations. Character education aims at holistic student development, highlighting its importance as a key component of educational reform.
