Fahmi Welcomes New Communications Ministry Secretary-General

Kuala lumpur: Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has expressed his hope that the Communications Ministry's new secretary-general, Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, will carry out his mandate and responsibilities excellently in driving the ministry's administration. Fahmi shared his sentiments in a Facebook post following a courtesy visit from Abdul Halim at Parliament today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Abdul Halim, 54, has been appointed as the new secretary-general of the Communications Ministry effective immediately. Previously, he served as the director-general of the National Disaster Management Agency. Abdul Halim holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Master of Business Administration from Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Abdul Halim has dedicated nearly 30 years to public service, beginning his career as an assistant director at the Implementation Coordination Unit within the Prime Minister's Department. Prior to his role as NADMA director-general, which commenced on June 9, he was the senior deputy secretary-general for Finance and Development at the Prime Minister's Department in 2023.
