Faizal Saari Eyes TNB Cup Glory To Complete Dream Season

Terengganu: Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) player Faizal Saari dreams of seeing his team lift the TNB Cup, which kicks off tomorrow, as the perfect ending to the 2025 season. The prolific 34-year-old striker, who just led THT to their seventh league title yesterday, believes that winning the cup would further cement THT's dominance in the Malaysia Hockey League (MHL).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Faizal expressed his sentiments after helping THT defeat Australian club Territory Stingers 4-1 in the final league match at National Hockey Stadium 2, Bukit Jalil. Faizal remarked on the historic achievement of going unbeaten in nine league matches, emphasizing that while the year 2025 is already remarkable, winning the TNB Cup would make it even more memorable.

Faizal, who has scored 19 goals in the MHL so far, is optimistic about adding more to his tally in the TNB Cup. THT will face Armed Forces HT in the TNB Cup quarter-finals tomorrow.

THT Head Coach Mohd Harfizi Baharom's squad is also set to face a strong challenge from their closest rivals, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). TNB is considered the main contender, featuring a squad with many national players and high-quality imports.

For the record, THT also reclaimed the 2025 Sumbangsih Cup from TNB, who achieved a treble last season, winning the Sumbangsih Cup, TNB Cup, and league title.
