FAMA Targets Sales Of RM1.6 Mln In Conjunction With Perak Agrofest 2025

Sungai siput: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) is targeting sales worth RM1.6 million through the Perak Agrofest 2025, which will be held for three days starting on Sept 26 at the Sungai Siput Infoternak Farm. Perak Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun said the target was designed to expand the market for agricultural products, increase the income of farmer entrepreneurs, stimulate the local economy, and strengthen FAMA's image as the leading agency for marketing agricultural products.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perak ruler Sultan Nazrin Shah is expected to officiate at the agricultural carnival. A total of 117 local entrepreneurs will participate in the carnival, comprising women entrepreneurs, young entrepreneurs, and new entrepreneurs, as announced at a press conference at the Rural Transformation Centre. The state-level biennial agricultural carnival is the main platform for strengthening the market network for agricultural products and promoting local agri-food products.

Mohd Zolkafly highlighted that there are 12 sites available for visitors, including the Padi Site, Agricultural Site, Innovation, Technology and Machinery Site, Veterinary Site, Pineapple Site, Blue Economy Site, Agency Site, Zoo and Night Safari Site, Floriculture Site, and Agro-based Food Industry Site. He noted that for this year's event, Perak FAMA is responsible for managing four main clusters: the Food Empire, Agro-Based Food Industry, Floriculture, and Agro Madani Sales @ Friendly Farmers' Market.

One of the main attractions of the agricultural carnival is the Agro MADANI @ Pasar Tani Mesra sale, which offers savings of up to 30 percent to visitors. Various activities will also be held to enliven the atmosphere such as the launch of entrepreneur products, children's colouring competitions, cooking demonstrations, coconut peeling and watermelon eating competitions, and busking performances.

Mohd Zolkafly added that with its diverse and high-impact content, the carnival is expected to strengthen the state's image as a competitive agricultural hub in the region and to support the Agro MADANI aspiration in ensuring food security and the well-being of the people.
