FBM KLCI Futures Close Higher in Sync with Cash Market

Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher, reflecting a positive trend in the cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the futures for May 2025 and December 2025 saw an increase of 6.5 points each, reaching 1,545.0 and 1,536.5, respectively. The June 2025 contract added 5.5 points to settle at 1,543.0, while the September 2025 contract rose by 5.0 points to 1,527.0.

Despite the upward movement in futures, turnover decreased to 4,302 lots compared to 6,458 lots recorded on Thursday. Open interest also reduced to 36,502 contracts from the previous 38,679 contracts.

At the close of trading at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself showed an increase of 0.24 per cent, gaining 3.76 points to reach 1,546.50, compared to the previous day's closing figure of 1,542.74.
