FBM KLCI Futures Contract Declines on Bursa Malaysia

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, aligning with the performance of the underlying cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the spot month August 2025 saw a decrease of 10.0 points, closing at 1,585.0. Similarly, the September 2025 contract fell by 9.0 points to 1,564.50, while the December 2025 contract dropped 15.0 points to 1,564.0. The March 2026 contract also recorded a decline, losing 11.50 points to end at 1,548.0.

The turnover for the day saw an increase, with 10,682 lots traded compared to 10,191 lots the previous day. Open interest also rose to 49,153 contracts from 48,018 contracts previously. As of 5 pm, the FBM KLCI eased 5.55 points, or 0.35 percent, to close at 1,581.05, down from the previous day's close of 1,586.60.
